We provide coaching for students who strive to attain better results in school. Our classes are kept small to encourage discussion yet enabling tutors to give individual attention. <back to top>
 
 

Are there any trial lessons?

Yes, there are trial lessons. Trial lesson will be charged at $10 per session. If the student is interested to continue with the class, the amount paid will be used for payment of administration fee.<back to top>
 
 

How much must I pay upon registration?

Administration fee $10 and course fees for the commencement month are required.<back to top>
 
 

Are the administration fee and course fees refundable?

Do I have to purchases any materials or assessment books?

What if a student joins in the middle of the month?

What are the modes of payment?

Payment must be made by cash or cheque. Cheques should be crossed and made payable to “Rainforest Education Centre”. Please write the student's name and contact number on the reverse side of the cheque. Please do not issue post-dated cheque.<back to top>
 

 

When is the due date for monthly course fee?

Course fees must be paid in full by 1st of every month.<back to top> 
 

 

What happens if the course fee is not received by the end of the month?

If course fee is not received by 14th of the month, it will be deemed that the student wishes to discontinue with the course(s). The centre reserves the right to withdraw the student. <back to top>
 

 

I am an ex-student from Rainforest Education Centre. Must I pay for the administration fee?

A student who has withdrawn from his/her course and re-register needs to pay the administration fee.<back to top>
 
 


Is there any discount given if I enrol for more than one subject?

What are the class schedules?

What if my lesson happens to fall on a Public Holiday?

The Centre is closed on all Public Holidays. Make up lessons will be arranged should the lesson falls on a public holiday. Where no make up lesson is arranged, course fees for that particular calendar month will be pro-rated accordingly.<back to top>

 

What is the maximum class size?

The maximum class size is 10 students per class. Once a class reached 10 students, no new registrations are accepted. <back to top>
 

 

Can I switch class(es) from time to time?

Students are advised to stick to the same class because they will become familiar with their tutor and friends and any change in classes will require the student, especially for the younger ones, to make new adjustments.<back to top>
 

 

Will there be any lessons during the school holidays?

The Centre runs an on-going curriculum during school holidays. Lessons will be conducted as per normal during school holidays.<back to top>
 


Is there any homework to be done at home?

Students are required to complete homework (which would be kept to a minimal). We believe in learning through discussion and explanation. Thus most of the the lesson time would be allocated to discussion in class where students are able to clarify their doubts with the tutor. Homework helps the students to apply new knowledge learn, review, revise and reinforce newly acquired skills,<back to top>
 

 

Are parents required to do homework with the student at home? Why?

Parents are encouraged to accompany their child, especially the younger ones, while doing homework. However, all work should be done by the student him/herself. Learning is a continuous process that requires continuous training and cooperation by the parents at home. Once a week lesson at the Centre is definitely not enough to bring out the maximum potential of the students.<back to top>
 

 

Are you lessons conducted according to school syllabus?

What are the qualifications of your tutors?

Our tutors are undergraduates, graduates, professionals, current and ex-school teachers who are personally chosen by our principal after going through a strict regime of tests and interviews.<back to top>
 

 

Can I choose tutors?

Students are not allowed to choose tutors as all our tutors are equally qualified and different tutors are specifically assigned to teach different levels and subjects.<back to top>
 
 


What if I am unable to attend a lesson?

There is NO make-up class for any lesson missed, irrespective of the reason. Students are advised to collect their notes and worksheets from the centre for the lessons missed.<back to top>
 


Will I get refund of course fee for lesson missed?

Students will be entitled to refunds if they missed their lessons due to the following reasons only:
- Overseas trip for more than 7 days with proof of travel documents.
- Hospitalisation with proof of medical documents.
- There will be NO refund of course fees for any reasons (eg. MC, vacation, exams, camp or any family /school activities)<back to top>
 
 
 

How long should I enrolled in the Centre to see results?

Students taking Mathematics and Sciences are encouraged to stay with the centre for at least half a year while those taking languages at least a year to see good progress.<back to top>
 

 

How would parents know if the students is progressing?

We conduct regular class assessment and provide constant feedback to parents on the student's performance.<back to top>
 

 

Are parents allowed to sit in lesson?

Parents, siblings and other adults are strictly not allowed in the classroom during lessons. To avoid any distraction to the students in class, all visitors are to wait at the reception are while lessons are underway.<back to top>

 
 

Do I need to declare any learning difficulty?

It is imperative that any student with learning difficulties of any nature be made known to the Centre in the official registration form accompanied by medical reports and doctor's notes. This will minimise risk of the student joining a course not suited to the student's level of development and ability. Often, some of these disabilities will require specialised and focused program. In the event that this disclosure is not made and the student is found unfit to continue, there will not be any refund of fees.<back to top>
 

 

What is the withdrawal procedure?

A students who wishes to withdraw his/her course needs to fill in a discontinuation form, giving the Centre a minimum fourteen (14) days notice.<back to top>
